It also includes creative, space-themed drinks like Celestial Sodas and Cosmic Energy drinks, often with an optional swirl of edible glitter. Customers can also choose from a variety of smoothies and blended frappes. This is a great stop for a quick and fun caffeinated pick-me-up.
Bisbee Coffee Company roasts specialty beans in small batches right upstairs from their cafe in Old Bisbee's Copper Queen Plaza. Walk in and the aroma hits immediately.
The Mexican Mocha is the thing here. It delivers a strong cinnamon kick that feels perfectly spiced without crossing into overkill territory. The pour over coffee is also excellent (and surprisingly affordable). The chai gets made in house but feels pretty standard next to those standout espresso drinks.
For food, the cinnamon rolls have earned their reputation for being pillowy soft. The breakfast burrito is adored by regulars. Bagel sandwiches come with creative touches like veggie pesto spreads. Though some folks mention the cream cheese quality bounces around a bit.
The vibe works for both locals and tourists passing through. Inside you get rustic meets hip energy. The outdoor patio on the southwest side offers killer views and stays quieter. The place is notably dog friendly (your pup can even hang inside while you order). They open early which makes them ideal for grabbing real coffee before you start wandering around town.
The roasting program focuses on beans like Ethiopia, Sumatra, Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexican Chiapas and Guatemala Huehuetenango. Each origin gets its own roasting profile designed to bring out what makes it special. That dedication shows up in what ends up in your cup.
Service can be a little inconsistent sometimes. Your drink might arrive cooler than you would hope. But look, the foundation here is solid. The coffee quality reflects genuine expertise and care. Allen & Co. is a charming coffee house tucked away in an adorable alley in Bisbee. It is a true hidden gem. The eclectic decor and cozy atmosphere create the perfect spot to relax and savor the moment. Allen & Co are known for their lavender lattes. The menu also features a selection of creative toasts and bagels. The walls are adorned with local art, and drinks are served in handmade mugs, adding a personal touch to the experience.

Old Bisbee Roasters has been part of Bisbee's coffee landscape for over two decades, built around founder Seth Appell's hands-on approach to sourcing and roasting small farm beans.
This is not a cafe. Let me say that again for the people in the back. This is not a cafe. Old Bisbee Roasters is a working roastery at 7 Naco Road with a small retail presence where you can buy beans and maybe catch Seth pulling espresso shots that look more like science experiments than morning coffee. If you are looking for a place to sit with a latte and pastry for two hours, this is not your spot. But if you want to geek out about green coffee sourcing and roasting profiles, welcome home.
The story apparently started with a cast iron frying pan and a handful of home-grown coffee beans. Classic coffee origin story stuff. Seth has over 20 years of experience in the specialty coffee world and it shows in everything from the bean selection to the way he dials in each roast. The approach here is roasting for taste rather than color, which is coffee-nerd speak for letting each origin express itself instead of blasting everything into dark oblivion.
The coffee program focuses heavily on small-farm and family-owned sources. You will see lots of organic, Fair Trade, and Rainforest Alliance certified options. They describe their selection as rare, delicious, and unusual small-farm coffees, which feels accurate based on what people say about the rotating lineup. Each day they showcase individual small-farm lots, so the selection changes based on what Seth is excited about at the moment.
Here is where things get fun. There is a sign that says free espresso shots for visitors. If you're lucky, it may not be a quick sample either. We are talking about Seth pulling ultra thick syrupy shots and tweaking grind and dose to show you what the coffee can do. It is theatrical and educational and exactly the kind of thing that makes coffee people lose their minds. Some reviews describe being taken into the back room where beans get packed, getting a full behind-the-scenes look at the operation.
The Roaster's Choice Coffee Club is a big part of the business. Seth selects coffees for subscribers and roasts them in small batches when you place your order. Club members get a discount of about two to four dollars per pound depending on the coffee. Long-term subscribers (we are talking 10-plus years here) describe the coffee as absolutely the best you can buy and mention that when they run out, nothing else quite measures up. That is some serious loyalty.
For local pickup, you can find their beans at Poco Market at 15 Main Street in Old Bisbee, which acts as a retail outlet. But the brand operates primarily as a mail-order roaster, shipping fresh-roasted beans across the country.
So here is the deal. If you want a big cafe vibe with food options and extended lounge time, Bisbee Coffee Company or other cafes will fit better. But if you are a serious home brewer looking for exceptional beans or if you want to experience coffee at its most obsessive and craft-driven, Old Bisbee Roasters is where you need to be. Think of it as Bisbee's coffee laboratory. A small space where an obsessive owner roasts micro lots and pulls shots for curious visitors who appreciate that level of dedication.

Amaik in Yuma, AZ is not a coffee shop that happens to sell food. It is a family bakery and specialty market that happens to have a cafe menu. Once you understand that, everything clicks.
The shop is tucked inside a small shop complex and not visible from the street. You have to walk in a bit to find it. When you do, the reward is a cozy and beautiful space run by a Mexican family whose warmth comes through in everything on the shelf and in the display case.
The desserts are the reason to come. Recipes go back generations. The grandmother and mother make them and some of those recipes trace back to the great grandmother. That kind of lineage shows up in the food. You can also pick up house made jams (multiple varieties) and local honey.
On the beverage side, the coffee beans come from Over The Road Coffee, a Yuma-rooted roaster you will typically find at the local farmers market rather than a storefront. Espresso is pulled from an Ethiopian single-origin bean and whole bean bags are available to purchase. The cafe menu covers espresso drinks, matcha, affogato, dalgona and a solid tea list that includes masala chai, cardamom and lavender among others. Aguas frescas round things out nicely.
The food menu has grown beyond sweets into light savory territory. Salads, sandwiches on a panini press, acai bowls and a soup of the day give the place real lunch potential. The avocado strawberry toast is worth trying.
If you walk in expecting a precision espresso bar, this is not that. But if you walk in for a cranberry pepita oatmeal cookie made from a family recipe, a jar of homemade jam, a bag of Ethiopian single origin beans and a masala chai, Amaik will absolutely deliver. Yuma is lucky to have it.

Mostly Muffins in Yuma is a local favorite known for fresh-baked gourmet muffins and a full breakfast and lunch menu served all day. Baristas prepare classic espresso drinks on a Rancilio machine, and the location offers the convenience of a drive-thru. This locally-owned cafe offers a charming and welcoming spot for a quick bite or a morning coffee. The menu features a wide variety of items beyond muffins. Customers can find large cinnamon rolls, breakfast sandwiches, French toast, and a selection of sandwiches and salads.

This Starbucks in Yuma is one of the newest locations. It is conveniently located right off the Interstate 8 exit at the frontage road. This is my top stop when I feel like a Starbucks lemonade-based Refresher! The modern interior features a beautiful and calming ambiance. Wood-paneled walls and comfortable leather banquette seating create an upscale feel. A stunning, large-scale botanical mural with green and gold tones serves as a beautiful centerpiece. This location has plentiful indoor seating and a drive-thru for quick service.

Coffee Bean Espresso Bar is a casual neighborhood cafe on S 4th Ave in Yuma, AZ. The menu covers espresso drinks, breakfast, lunch and dinner at a price point that makes it easy to come back often.
This is not a third-wave coffee shop and it does not try to be. It is the kind of place a neighborhood actually needs. Mexican-owned, friendly staff, some house made desserts in the case and a full food menu that runs from soups and salads to hot and cold sandwiches. You can make a meal out of a visit here without thinking too hard about it.
The espresso program is built around a Colombian and Brazilian blend, medium-dark roasted with notes of chocolate, hazelnut and a touch of caramel sweetness. The beans come from Lindsay at The Unknown Ground Coffee, a local Yuma roaster. Whole bean bags are available to take home, which is a nice touch for anyone who wants to support local outside of the cafe. The machine pulling the shots is a La San Marco 100 Touch, a classic Italian workhorse that suits the vibe of the place well.
The latte I had was decent but left me wanting a little more. My gut says it was the shot calibration rather than the beans themselves. Lindsay's blend has the right foundation on paper and the La San Marco is capable of better. It might just be a matter of dialing things in. If you are looking for a geisha pour over or a rotating single origin flight, this is not your spot. But if you want a coffee, a good sandwich and a genuinely friendly room to sit in, Coffee Bean Espresso Bar has been doing exactly that for a long time. Yuma has plenty of chain options. This is the alternative worth choosing.

Nichim Cafe in Yuma, AZ is one of those rare finds that makes you want to tell everyone you know. The menu alone is worth the stop off the I-8.
Yuma does not get the coffee love it deserves. But if there is one shop in town making a serious case for the city, it is Nichim Cafe on S. Foothills Blvd. Owner Karime Burruel originally grew up in Mexicali and you can feel that pride and care in every corner of this place.
Ms. Burruel runs the cafe with her daughter and together they have built something genuinely special. Her commitment to quality starts with sourcing. She imports her coffee beans directly from a roaster across the border in Mexico, focusing on single origin Chiapas beans grown in the mountains of that southern Mexican state. The beans are organic. The milk is organic. The chicken in the sandwiches is organic. The equipment matches that standard too. The espresso shots are pulled on a Nuova Simonelli and every chiller and piece of equipment in the shop is quality stainless steel (none of the cheap restaurant-grade stuff here).
On our visit we put the menu to the test. The Chicken Sandwich was delicious and everything on it felt like quality right down to the sourdough bread. The Arugula Toast with egg (avocado and cherry tomatoes on sourdough) was excellent. The Sprouts Toast with egg was fabulous. The boiled egg addition to those toasts is a great call and I would not skip it. The Mango Smoothie was creamy and delicious. The hot latte made from those Chiapas beans was exactly what you want from a single origin pour. And the Mocha Frap deserves a special mention: it is well balanced, not too sweet, made from all natural ingredients with no syrups and no added sweeteners. Think of it as what a Starbucks frappuccino would be if it actually cared about you!
The cozy shop also functions as a mini market. You can grab a dozen organic brown eggs sourced from Golden Valley Browns (a local Yuma farm), sourdough bread and English muffins from The Rustic Pantry, jars of marinara from Mama's Bella Vita, local honey in several varieties and handmade soap bars from McMatos Farm. The desserts come from Tater Bryde Bakery & Sweets and they are top notch. What Ms. Burruel has done here goes beyond running a great cafe. She looked at her community, found the best of what it had to offer and brought it all under one roof! Local farmers, local bakers, local makers. The result is a place where a single visit gives you a genuine taste of Yuma at its finest. That is a rare thing anywhere.
The shop sits right off the I-8 Foothills Blvd exit with a brand new Chevron right next door. It truly could not be more convenient for travelers passing through. Just know that Nichim Cafe closes at 3:00 PM daily (2:00 PM on Sundays). This is a shop worth building your schedule around. Set your arrival time, plan your stop and do not let the clock beat you. You will regret it if it does.

Every border town deserves a coffee shop with character, and North End is Yuma's answer. It sits in historic downtown, right off the I-8 Giss Pkwy exit, just blocks from the Colorado River and Gateway Park. You could roll up, charge your Tesla, and walk over. And once you have your drink in hand, there is a little piece of Arizona history waiting three blocks away. More on that in a bit.
Picture an old western brick building with a steampunk wink. Exposed brick. Warm wood tones. A sofa that pulls you in like a living room. It lands somewhere between a coffee shop and a friend's cozy den, and it does not try too hard to impress you. Comfortable, creative, a little eclectic. The neighborhood hangout vibe is strong here.
The coffee leans approachable. Sometimes they roast their own, sometimes they pull from a local roaster. On my last visit I had a small latte built on medium roasted Mexican Chiapas beans. Creamy, smooth, balanced. No loud bean notes shouting at you. Just an easy, friendly cup. I will say a couple of months back, on a previous visit, I had a cup that was noticeably better. I do not know which beans they used that day, but it stuck with me. The ceiling here is higher than that last latte let on.
If you want something with more going on, reach for the Sunkissed Matcha. The matcha runs strong, and the house made strawberry puree stays mellow (I suspect no added sugar). I left wishing for a touch more sweetness, but the honesty of it is kind of refreshing. We also grabbed the Coconut and Strawberry Lemonade off the summer menu. Big strawberry and lemon flavor, a whisper of coconut, ice cold and refreshing. A great pick when the Yuma sun is doing its thing.
Now, about that history. Walk three blocks over to Gateway Park, sitting at the end of the cul-de-sac, and you will find a retired 1907 Baldwin locomotive with a walk up platform. The Southern Pacific Railroad donated this engine to the City of Yuma to celebrate local rail history instead of scrapping it. The city later built the Pivot Point Interpretive Plaza around the original concrete bridge pivot, which is still visible in the ground next to the Hilton. They placed the train there to mark the historic gateway into Arizona. So your coffee comes with a side of frontier railroading. Not a bad deal.
And the staff? Friendly every single time.
North End is the warm, unpretentious downtown hang Yuma needed. Go charge up, slow down, and stay a while.

Cafecito is a coffee shop inside a historic building at 176 S Main St in downtown Yuma. It is only about a mile from Interstate 8 and a short walk from the Tesla Supercharger station near Gateway Park. It is family friendly and the atmosphere is artsy and eclectic with a bustling community hub feel.
The first thing you notice is the outdoor space. The garden patio is huge and beautifully designed. Bougainvillea fills the area and a towering saguaro anchors the scene. There is plenty of seating spread throughout and the whole space feels tucked away from the main street traffic. It is the kind of patio where you sit down and forget you are in the middle of town. If the weather cooperates then this is where you want to be.
Inside is just as interesting. Cafecito features a multi room layout connected by a charming long hallway. The historic building gives the space a unique feel where each room becomes its own cozy nook. It does not feel like one large crowded hall. It feels like a collection of private rooms. Vintage couches are scattered throughout and one wall is covered in guitars and mandolins. The interior blends the character of the old building with a modern aesthetic. Whether you sit inside or out on the patio the space is welcoming and comfortable.
The shop serves beans from Spirit Mountain Roasting Co. which is a local roaster operating on Native land just north of Yuma on the Fort Yuma Quechan Reservation in California. The menu is vegan friendly and includes pour overs and house steeped cold brew alongside the usual espresso drinks. I ordered a latte made with their medium roasted beans. It was balanced and tasted good. No complaints.
Cafecito is a place that gets its identity right. The coffee is solid, the sourcing is local and meaningful and the space itself is unlike anything else I have seen in Yuma. That garden patio alone is worth the stop. If you are passing through on I-8 or charging your car nearby, do yourself a favor and walk over.

Some coffee shops surprise you the moment you walk in. Azul Cafe is one of those. From the outside it looks like an older unassuming building. But step inside and it flips on you. The place is big, bright and spacious with plenty of tables. White smooth ceiling, tile floors, light wood tables and brown cushioned seating. Minimalist and modern. And it is clean. Really clean, bathrooms included.
Azul is a small local brand with a few locations around Yuma. The others are buried deeper into town, but this one sits just a few minutes off the highway, which quietly makes it a great Starbucks alternative if you are passing through.
Now, the coffee. The beans actually come from Over The Road Coffee, a Yuma rooted roaster that stays active in the community and pops up at local farmers markets all the time. That is a cool local connection. The only catch is that nobody behind the counter knew it. When I asked about the beans, the best I got was "house blend" of dark or medium. And look, when the baristas cannot tell you where the coffee comes from, that is usually not a great sign, even when the answer turns out to be a solid local roaster.
I had a small hot latte with whole milk, and it took me right back to the old school Starbucks latte. Not bitter, not sour, not watery, just kind of quiet. The bean character is muted. To their credit, they put different shot counts in the different sizes, which tells me someone is at least thinking about balance.
The real action here is the sweet stuff. We tried the coconut cream mocha, which had a lovely sweet coconut cream, though the mocha itself was so sweet it fought the coconut. Pleasant, but I would not reorder. Then there was the cherry cheesecake matcha, which arrives with actual cheesecake crust crumble on top. This thing is a dessert wearing a drink costume. Really good as a sweet treat, with a decent (if slightly synthetic) cherry note. Just do not expect it to taste like matcha. Most of the drinks here lean on commercial syrups, so go in knowing that.
While I didn't try the food, the shop also provides house made flan and fresh croissants that are displayed in a pristine pastry case.
So here is the deal. If you are hunting for a serious single origin pour over, this is not quite that. But if you want a spotless, airy space with friendly sweet drinks and an easy stop off the highway, Azul delivers.

Old West Java in Yuma, AZ is a Western-themed cafe at 356 W 24th St with rustic cowboy decor, a cozy atmosphere and a seasonal drink menu worth exploring.
The origin story here is too good to skip. Owner Cristobal Perez started selling coffee out of a makeshift horse trailer. That is not a branding gimmick. That is a real thing that happened, and it makes the Western theme feel earned rather than decorative. The cowboy decor inside is charming and the room has a warmth to it that matches the staff. The barista I encountered was genuinely friendly and the kind of person who makes you feel good about being there.
The seasonal drink menu keeps things interesting and the newer additions like acai bowls show that the menu is still growing. If you are ordering drinks, stick to the espresso-based options. The signature iced latte is decent.
I did not see any whole bean bags for sale and when I asked the barista where the beans come from, there was no clear answer. For a cafe that leans so hard into identity and character, that is a gap worth closing. Knowing your beans is part of the story.
But here is the thing. Old West Java is not trying to be a specialty coffee destination and that is fine. It is a neighborhood cafe with a great backstory, a fun room and a staff that makes you want to come back. In Yuma, that counts for a lot.

They source their beans from the acclaimed WeBe Coffee Roasters in North Phoenix. The blend combines washed and natural specialty beans with flavor notes of Tropical Fruit, Caramel, and Milk Chocolate.
Indigo Room Coffee pulls every shot on the legendary La Marzocco Linea Mini machine. This equipment brand is used only by the very best. The drink quality is so good that some people call it the best in Phoenix! For those who would love to see some WeBe single-origin beans pulled through a Chemex or V60, Carder is plotting something special for manual brew enthusiasts. Blackhawk Coffee proves that a world class coffee experience can come from anywhere. Even a stationary coffee truck in Sedona. I do not usually feature coffee trucks or carts on this site but Blackhawk earned an exception.
This is a family run operation. Chris and his son work the truck and his daughter bakes the muffins. That is it. No corporate ladder. No franchise playbook. Just a family making really good coffee out of a truck with red rock views in the background.
The La Marzocco FB80 is not a machine you casually throw into a truck. It is a commercial workhorse that you would expect to find anchoring a busy brick and mortar cafe. Seeing one inside a coffee truck in Sedona tells you everything you need to know about how seriously these people take their coffee.
I tried the espresso and it was dialed in. Clean and balanced. The Mama Bear Latte is one of their popular drinks and I can see why. The muffins are home baked and worth grabbing alongside your order.
Many people remember Blackhawk from their original spot near the Sedona welcome sign. They have since moved into town to their current location. The new spot still has the views. And Chris and his son still have the same energy they had on day one. Friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely happy to be making coffee for people.
Some of the best coffee experiences I have had in Arizona did not come from the fanciest shops. They came from people who care way too much about a single cup. Blackhawk is that.
