Best Coffee Shops in Tucson
If you know the Phoenix coffee scene, you will be happy to find a familiar name at Cartel Roasting Co.'s location at 210 E Broadway Blvd in downtown Tucson. This is a spacious, industrial-style shop that's a great spot to bring a laptop and get some work done, with plenty of seating and outlets. As an established Arizona roaster, they offer a solid craft coffee menu, including pour-overs and nitro cold brew.

Located in the heart of downtown Tucson Caffe Luce is a fantastic spot known for its rich coffee culture and pleasant unpretentious environment. This multi-level cafe features a New York loft-style aesthetic with high ceilings natural light and an upstairs seating area perfect for working or relaxing. The shop proudly serves a full menu of espresso drinks featuring a beautiful La Marzocco FB80 machine. For coffee purists they offer V60 pour-over with single-origin beans. Consistently praised for its friendly staff delicious coffee and chill atmosphere this cafe is a shining example of Tucson's coffee scene and comes with our highest recommendation.

Savaya Coffee at The Flin is a sunlit Arizona retreat in downtown Tucson. This peaceful shop features rare single origin organic beans and a full craft brew bar.
The Flin is one of those modern residential hubs that feels like a quiet retreat from the heat. Savaya fits into it perfectly. The shop is a peaceful and sunlit space that leans into that Arizona minimalist aesthetic. You will see clean lines and plenty of light. It is a room that feels like a high end brew lab where the furniture is as deliberate as the drink menu.
Owner Burc Maruflu treats coffee with an intensity that makes most shops look like they are just winging it. He is a licensed quality grader. He does not sell any coffee in his shop with less than an 86 rating on a 100 point scale. The setup reflects that obsession. It features a full craft bar with Siphons and Aeropresses. They even have a top tier Victoria Arduino machine for the espresso purists.
The mission here is purity. They do not want to hide the coffee under a mountain of sugar or dairy. They want you to taste the actual notes and characteristics that come from the farm. It is a (taste coffee for the first time) situation. The history of the bean stretches back to the family roots of the owner in Turkey. It is right there in the cup. You should go here if you are a connoisseur who wants to nerd out over a rare 91 rated Yemeni pour over in a beautiful setting. Just do not ask for the creamer.

Talega Coffee is a stylish hidden gem in downtown Tucson celebrated for its Mexican owned roots and smooth espresso with a beautiful dog friendly large patio.
I discovered Talega on a quiet tree lined street and it is a true owner operated gem. This shop is celebrated by coffee snobs as one of the top in Arizona. The passion of the owners (Rene and Tyler) shines through in their service and welcoming energy. They have created a space that celebrates their heritage while being a designated LGBTQ+ and transgender safe space. The name "Talega" is actually a tribute to the roots of Rene. A talega is a traditional Mexican cotton filter bag that her grandmother used to brew coffee.
In Mexican culture coffee is a central part of social gatherings with family and friends. Rene uses this philosophy to foster a sense of belonging in the Tucson community. They serve a focused menu of classic espresso drinks. Each cup showcases a deep and smooth flavor without bitterness. You must try the creative specialty drinks like the La Rosa Latte. It uses Arizona wildflower honey and is inspired by the traditional Mexican peanut candy called mazapan. They also offer Huupa Coffee which adds to the unique menu. There is a beautiful dog friendly patio for hanging out.
Between the history in every cup and the incredible courtyard vibes this is an essential Tucson experience. Stop by for the latte but stay for the soul of the place.
