Dottie's Garden Coffee Shoppe

Remember when you were a kid and you would stumble onto something that felt like it should not exist? That is Dottie's Garden Coffee Shoppe.

The shop is tucked inside Warner's Nursery in Flagstaff. You order your coffee surrounded by walls of greenery and flowers. Then you wander the greenhouse aisles with your cup, past succulents and whatever else is in season, and eventually find your way to the patio. It is a genuinely great setup and one of those concepts that makes you wonder why more nurseries have not done it.

The coffee comes from Matador Coffee, a solid local Flagstaff roaster. The specialty lattes lean sweet (sometimes very sweet) and the espresso strength can vary depending on who is behind the bar. My suggestion: ask for half the syrup or just go with a standard drink and skip the flavoring altogether. The bones are good.

But honestly, the coffee is almost beside the point. The atmosphere does the heavy lifting here. It is peaceful, a little hidden and unlike any other coffee stop in town. Worth a detour just to see it.
