Moka & Co just opened a new location in downtown Chandler's Heritage District and it is easily one of the most visually striking coffee shops in the East Valley. If you care at all about design, walk in just for that. You will not regret it.
The space stops you in your tracks. Large floor to ceiling glass panes wrap the entrance. Inside, custom geometric wood carvings cover the walls and woven pendant lights hang overhead, all of it illuminated by soft backlighting that keeps the room warm but crisp. The barista counter is wrapped in bright marble. The furniture is sleek light wood with gorgeous woven chairs that somehow feel both minimal and comfortable at the same time. It is the kind of interior that makes you wonder who designed it and whether they do residential work. Oh, and there is a gorgeous Victoria Arduino espresso machine behind the bar. The Mesa location runs a super automatic machine. Chandler gets the Eagle One. We lucked out.
There are two outdoor seating areas, one in the front and one at the back. The front faces Chandler's Heritage District and the Crowne Plaza across the street. It is a great people watching spot with the park in view and steady foot traffic on a Friday evening. The back shares a wall with Craft 64's patio, which was absolutely packed during my visit. If you want quiet, go inside or sit out front. Indoors is remarkably calm with plenty of tables and power outlets if you need to plug in.
The area itself is one of the more walkable pockets in the East Valley. Dining, unique shops, Saturday farmers market and regular events make this a destination neighborhood worth spending a few hours in.
Now, the drinks. Moka & Co is a Yemeni specialty coffee brand with a genuine farm to cup story. The original founder comes from a family of coffee farmers in Yemen who continue to grow beans on high altitude farms to this day. That origin story is real and it matters. For the espresso, I asked the barista to show me the actual beans going into the grinder and they looked medium roast to my eye. But the shot pulled bold and dark, 18 grams at 28 seconds. My honest take is that I kept thinking about what those Yemeni beans could taste like if the roast let them speak a little more (to the lighter side). But that is my bias as someone who gravitates toward light roasts. Bold coffee drinkers will be genuinely happy here.
The Mufawar was the most interesting thing I tried. It is ground coffee mixed with cardamom, a touch of cinnamon and hints of ginger, all simmered with full fat milk or cream and strained into the cup. It arrives very hot and the cardamom leads from start to finish. It was good in its own way and it felt authentic. It is not for everyone but if cardamom is your thing, order it without hesitation.
The Adeni Chai was an unexpected highlight. I only had a small cold sample but the tea flavor was clean and dominant. Worth ordering.
The food is worth your attention too. I tried the potato samboosa, the spinach pie and the feta pie. The feta pie was the clear winner, genuinely delicious with soft dough. The spinach pie was solid as well. The pastry case also has cinnamon rolls, almond croissants and various Middle Eastern options if you want something on the sweeter side.
Moka & Co is a family's legacy poured into a cup and carried across oceans to Chandler's old downtown. They are growing fast across Arizona and based on this Heritage District location, it is easy to see why. The brand is polished, the space is beautiful and the Yemeni coffee culture they are bringing to the East Valley is something most locals are only now getting their first look at. Go for the atmosphere, stay for the Mufawar and leave some room for the feta pie.

Aristocrat Coffee Roasters is a new specialty coffee shop in Downtown Chandler, AZ. The menu includes espresso drinks, Greek coffee, pour-over (coming soon) and desserts.
Paul Rouvas is Greek. He named his coffee shop after his favorite saxophone (which hangs proudly on the wall). He worked alongside his father in the restaurant industry for years and carries a long list of SCA certifications under his belt. And somewhere along the way he fell deeply in love with coffee. That combination of hospitality instinct and coffee nerd energy is exactly what Downtown Chandler needed.
When I walked into Aristocrat for the first time, the first thing I noticed was the machine. Sitting on the bar was a black Kees Van Der Westen Spirit espressoΒ machine. I had seen one years ago at a coffee shop out on the west coast during my travels. I thought I would never see one again. Here it was, in Chandler. Paul knows what he is doing.
Currently, espresso is made using single origin Mexican Chiapas beans. I am not always a huge fan of Chiapas, but Paul pulled a latte that was phenomenal! The Kees does not hurt. And here is something I appreciate: hot lattes come in one size. One. If a coffee shop offers you three or four size options, that is usually not a good sign. Every size change throws off calibration and you lose the balance of the drink. At Aristocrat, you do not have to worry about that.
My wife ordered a Freddo Cappuccino (half sweet). For those unfamiliar, it is a popular Greek iced coffee made with a double shot of espresso shaken with ice and topped with thick cold frothed milk. I may have stolen a few sips when she was not looking. It was layered, creamy and perfectly sweet. I highly recommend it.
Paul is also obsessed with roasting quality. He measures the moisture content of green coffee to make sure it lands in the optimal range. He roasts on a Probat which is about as serious as it gets for heat retention and thermal consistency. This is some serious high tech equipment here.
Pour-over options are not ready as of my first visit (mid-March) but they are coming very soon. A Chemex setup is already in place and counter mounted heat lamps are already installed. That kind of detail tells you everything about what to expect.
Parking is easy. There is free street parking and a free city garage right across the street. There is also a nice patio for the cooler months.
Aristocrat Coffee Roasters is in soft opening right now. And honestly, as someone who lives in the East Valley, I find that exciting. This neighborhood does not always get first dibs on the best things. But here is a shop with a world-class espresso machine, a roaster who measures moisture content in green coffee, SCA certifications on the wall and Greek coffee on the menu. This is the kind of place that other cities brag about having. It is right here in Downtown Chandler. Go now, while it is still quiet. You will want to say you were there early.

Think your local coffee shop really knows its beans? Peixoto does not just know them, they grew them! On their family farm in Brazil where the Peixoto name has been tied to coffee for over a century.
Walk into this place and the first thing that hits you is the light. High ceilings pull your eyes up to exposed beams and industrial touches that somehow feel warm instead of cold. Hanging pothos plants cascade down from above (and they look healthy, which means someone here actually cares). The space breathes. Natural sunlight pours through the windows and catches on the glassware they use for every drink. These are not paper cups. Your latte arrives in actual glass that shows off the layers and the foam art.
The smell is what keeps you there. Fresh roasted coffee with none of that burnt edge you get at places that do not understand their beans. Peixoto roasts light to let the natural flavors come through. Their espresso leans bright and fruity. It tastes different because it is different. This is honey processed coffee from their own farm at Fazenda Sao Jose da Boa Vista in Minas Gerais.
The seasonal menu changes with intention. Right now you might find a Hot Honey Latte with cayenne that somehow works. Or a Kettle Corn creation that balances salt and sweet in ways that should not make sense but do. The Coconut Cold Brew returns every summer and people plan their visits around it. The Strawberry Pistachio gets layered in pink and cream and topped with freeze dried berries that crunch.
Behind the counter sit baristas who pull shots on equipment that matters. They do manual pour overs with gooseneck kettles. They understand extraction times and water temperature. When you watch them work you see people who actually know coffee instead of just following a recipe card.
The pastries come from local bakeries and rotate daily. Get there early if you want the almond croissants (buttery layers for days) or the cardamom buns on Tuesdays. The macarons are delicate enough to justify the price. Everything sells out because everything is actually good.
The crowd is a mix. College students claimed corners with laptops. Friends catch up at small tables. Someone in the back is on a video call. The vibe stays relaxed even when the line stretches. Music plays at a volume that lets you think (rare these days). You can sit outside along the street and watch downtown Chandler move past you.
This is the original location. The one that started it all in 2015 when Julia and Jeff Peixoto left corporate jobs to do something that mattered more. The space feels lived in now. Comfortable. A place that knows what it is and does not need to prove anything.
Parking can require patience during peak hours. The place fills up on weekends. But there is a parking garage nearby that makes it work. And honestly, once you taste what they are doing here, you stop caring about the walk.
This is what happens when a family decides their legacy matters more than scale. The farm connection is not a story they tell to sell coffee. It is the actual reason the coffee tastes this way. Worth the trip to downtown Chandler whether you stay for hours or just grab something perfect to go.

Tea Fresho is a Vietnamese-style beverage shop specializing in handcrafted boba teas, coffees, and smoothies. The menu is extensive. It features a wide variety of fresh teas, milk teas, and creative creamy blended drinks. The shop also offers unique Vietnamese coffee specialties like Cream Egg Coffee and Saigon's Coffee Dream. To complement the drinks, they serve Banh Mi sandwiches with various meat and vegetable choices.

Levante Coffee in Chandler is a Middle Eastern inspired coffee shop serving Brazilian single origin beans with an extensive specialty drink menu including Karak tea and Turkish coffee. The name comes from "The Levant," a historical region in the Middle East that includes Jordan, Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon. It means "the rising" or "the rising sun in the east" (French origin). So right away you know this place is bringing something different to the table.
I spent some time talking with the owner Mr. Talal Abd Al Rahman on a Sunday afternoon. His passion for coffee and community comes through immediately. The creativity he put into the menu is impressive. Seriously extensive options! More than most shops could pull off.
The coffee beans come from a small local roaster. Mr. Talal uses single origin Brazilian naturally processed beans which is a solid choice if you know anything about coffee. Brazilian naturals tend to have these fruity, complex notes that make them stand out.
The drink menu is where things get fun. You get all the cafe staples you would expect: espresso, Americanos, cappuccinos, lattes, mochas, flat whites, the whole usual lineup. But then Levante takes a turn and leans into Middle Eastern and playful flavors. Karak tea shows up as a headliner (think strong spiced tea with milk that is built for comfort). Turkish coffee and Arabic coffee are both available if you want the full cultural experience. There are Italian sodas, matcha based drinks, and even things like a Banana Pudding Macchiato for when you are feeling adventurous. The specialty menu is extensive. Like seriously extensive. Options galore. For most drinks you get the option of matcha-based or espresso-based. Choose the coffee based trust me. You'll thank me later (unless you are a matcha nut).
So I put the menu to the test. The Banana Pudding Macchiato impressed immediately. The banana flavor was not overwhelming but just right. The espresso balanced the sweet notes nicely. The presentation was stunning!
The Dubai Chocolate Latte (espresso-based) came sprinkled with pistachio nuts on top. Rich and indulgent without being too heavy. This is the kind of drink that makes you slow down and actually taste what you are drinking instead of just mainlining caffeine.
And because I am apparently incapable of visiting a coffee shop without ordering a standard latte, I got one with whole milk (dairy). Very nice. Here is the thing though. The Brazilian beans showed their characteristics and notes despite being hard to detect such things typically in lattes. That is actually impressive because milk drinks usually mask a lot of the subtle flavors.
All three drinks were well blended. You do not get the gooey stuff at the bottom. Everything was so good that I even was crunching on the ice for every bit of flavor.
The space itself feels like a discovery. From the outside, Levante looks like any neighborhood cafe tucked into a Chandler strip center. But step inside and something shifts. The room opens up with a warmth that invites you to stay. There is a reader corner for the people who actually came to read. There are tables with enough breathing room that you do not feel like you are eavesdropping on the conversation next to you. The design is not trying to be a hyper minimal third wave shrine. It feels more like a modern living room where the family happens to make really good coffee. Cozy without being cramped. Inviting without being loud about it.
You can find Levante Coffee at 2330 N Alma School Rd in Chandler. Look for the strip center. Walk through the door. And let yourself be surprised by what a family with passion and creativity can build. This is the kind of place that makes you remember why coffee shops matter. Not just for the caffeine (though the Brazilian beans are excellent). Not just for the Instagram moment (though the Dubai Chocolate Latte is stunning). But for the feeling that you are welcome in a space where someone cares deeply about what they are serving you. Where the menu reflects genuine curiosity and cultural pride. Where the drinks are made with attention and the conversation flows easily. Chandler needed something like this. A place that honors tradition while playing with flavor. A place that feels like home while tasting like adventure. Levante delivers on all of it. Go visit. Order something you have never heard of before. Talk to Mr. Talal if he is there. And enjoy one of the most genuinely exciting coffee experiences the East Valley has to offer.

Dulce Churro Cafe is a dessert-focused shop specializing in made-to-order churros, available in a variety of creative shapes and with numerous toppings, fillings, and sauces. The cafe sources its coffee from the well-regarded local roaster Cartel Coffee Roasting Co. They offer a menu of standard espresso-based drinks. The menu also includes unique options like a Horchata Latte. The primary attraction is the extensive and customizable churro menu.

With locations in Ahwatukee and Tempe, The Buzzed Goat Coffee Company functions as a hybrid cafe and bar with a lively atmosphere. The menu's main focus is on a wide variety of specialty cold brew creations alongside classic espresso drinks, energy drinks, and cocktails. Food offerings include breakfast burritos, sandwiches, and pastries, available with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Paris Baguette in Chandler is not a third wave coffee shop. There is no single origin rotating menu, no Nordic style light roast pour overs and no barista monologue about terroir. I want to be upfront about that because this is primarily a craft coffee site. Normally a place like this would not make the cut here. But I felt compelled to add Paris Baguette because the desserts and pastries are genuinely spectacular and honestly the coffee is good enough to deserve a mention too.
The Chandler location sits in the Chandler Fashion Center area and the space feels like a little piece of Europe dropped into an Arizona strip. Stylish, spacious and chill. The kind of place where you sit down and immediately stop rushing.
The coffee program runs on the Italian roaster Lavazza. This means you are getting a darker traditional espresso profile with chocolate and nut notes and low acidity. It is smooth and mainstream designed to pair beautifully with something sweet. Which brings us to the real reason to be here.
The pastries are dangerous. The fruit and custard options are the standout for me. Rich & fresh and the kind of thing you tell yourself you will only have one of. The croissants are excellent. The sweet buns are excellent. Everything in that case is excellent and you will have a hard time picking just one thing. That is a warning.
The milk based espresso drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, mochas and their iced versions) are well made with good foam and texture. This is a corporate bakery cafe operation so the drinks are built for consistency and accessibility rather than experimental brewing. That is perfectly fine. A well pulled caramel latte next to a fruit custard pastry in a room that feels this nice? That is a very good afternoon.
The staff is friendly and the vibe is relaxed with tons of seating available. You can easily spend an hour here without noticing.
Paris Baguette will not replace your favorite specialty roaster. It is not trying to. What it offers is a reliable & enjoyable cafe experience anchored by some of the best pastries you will find in Chandler. The coffee earns its place on the table. The pastries steal the show. Come hungry.

Chandler's Ocotillo district has a way of surprising people. Most visitors expect the sun-baked desert landscape that defines so much of the Phoenix metro. What they find instead is over 160 acres of interconnected lakes, 17 miles of shoreline, Santa Barbara inspired architecture with white walls and red tile rooflines, lush Mediterranean landscaping and enough waterfront dining to make you forget you are in the middle of the Sonoran Desert. Herons and egrets are a common sight here. So are early morning joggers on the lakeside trails. It is one of the more quietly special pockets of the East Valley.
Bottle & Bean sits right in the heart of it at 2577 W Queen Creek Rd. And the building earns its address. White walls, arched entryway, decorative tile accents and a roofline that fits right into the district's coastal Mediterranean character. String lights hang over a turf lawn lined with dark Adirondack chairs and round fire pit tables. On a warm April evening with temperatures in the high 70s, every single one of those chairs was taken.
But we will get back to the scene. First, the coffee.
The machine behind the bar is a Sanremo Cafe Racer. If you know espresso equipment then you already know what that signals. If you do not, just know it is the kind of machine that serious shop owners buy when they want to make serious coffee. I asked the barista directly whether it runs all the way to close. It does! Every day 6:30am to 7:00pm. That means you can order an espresso or and espresso-based drink well into the evening!
The beans come from Infusion Coffee which is one of the Valley's most respected roasters. Bottle & Bean standardizes on the "Freakshow blend". It is a mix of Colombian, Mexican, Ethiopian and Brazilian beans. It pulls bold and hits with a bit of a bite. My regular readers know I lean toward medium to light roasts and single origins so the Freakshow was not exactly my default preference. I ordered the hot latte in the small size. Both sizes come with two shots so I skipped the large to avoid drowning the espresso in milk. The latte was good. Solid. But if I went back I would probably go large and let the extra milk soften the boldness a bit.
My wife ordered the signature Ocotillo. Espresso, agave, cinnamon and oat milk. She finished it faster than I have ever seen her finish a drink. Her words were something about symphonies of flavor on the palate. I will take her word for it. Apparently, it tasted like the work of someone who actually thought carefully about what goes in the cup.
One more signature drink worth knowing about is The Rock. Regulars apparently love it and say that it is best paired with tiger spice chai. We did not try it on this visit but it is on the list for next time.
And skip the matcha. That is all I will say about that.
Now. Back to the room.
Walk through that arched front door and the interior opens up in a way you do not expect from the outside. On your right is a long narrow dining room with a sophisticated modern industrial character that is genuinely impressive. The ceiling is high and exposed, painted white to keep the space from feeling heavy. Below it is dark ornate patterned tile floors. The left wall is finished with classic panel molding and a large piece of abstract contemporary art. The right wall features tall arched windows dressed with white shutters and floor to ceiling navy curtains. The centerpiece is a cascading multi-tiered chandelier that truly anchors the room. The furniture is high contrast throughout. Lots of tables paired with leather wrapped stools. It is upscale and intimate. Somewhere between a classic bistro and a modern lounge.
Cross to the left side of the shop near the barista station and the mood shifts. A vertical wood plank accent wall anchors the space with a warm white neon Bottle & Bean sign glowing above it. Two wingback chairs sit by the wall. The whole area feels like a place someone actually thought about.
Outside there is a misting system installed on the patio for when Arizona summer eventually does what Arizona summer does. Smart.
We visited on a Friday evening around 6pm. Live music was going on the lawn. Most people around us were drinking wine and beer which made complete sense for the hour. It was loud. That is what a Friday evening at a place like this feels like. The morning crowd must feel entirely different. Quieter? perhaps. But I am sure more coffee forward. Probably a much better time to work though the indoor dining room looks like it could work for a focused session if the energy is calmer on weekday mornings.
Is it a coffee shop? A wine bar? A brunch spot? Yes to all three. But if you go in the morning then pull up a chair outside and let the music do its thing. It feels like the coffee shop won that day.

Located within the stunning, art deco-inspired lobby of Cornerstone Church's District location, this coffee house is a true community gem. It is a beautiful and wonderfully welcoming space designed as a quiet oasis for meetings, focused work, or simply relaxing with a great drink. The menu offers a range of classic espresso beverages, frappes, and teas, all served by an exceptionally friendly staff. It has quickly become a beloved spot for both church members and the local neighborhood to gather and connect. Please note their hours before planning your visit as they are typically open Monday through Thursday and closed on Fridays.

What if your morning latte could fund a well in South Sudan or feed starving children? Mission Coffee and Tea opened in early 2025 at the Watermark development near Gilbert and Germann Roads in Chandler. This is a locally owned craft coffeehouse with a cause-driven mission that goes way beyond just selling coffee.
The space is modern and tranquil with an upstairs loft. It feels designed for lingering rather than rushing through. You can tell they want people to actually gather here.
I had a good conversation with Mr. Chip Stoecker (the General Manager). He has traveled extensively to study coffee around the world. Hearing about his trips to various coffee farms was genuinely interesting. The guy knows his stuff and clearly cares about the sourcing process.
Mission uses direct trade to acquire their beans. They work directly with growers without using large corporations or distributors. The farmers receive premium prices to support their workers and communities. The proceeds from coffee sales go toward local and global causes. They partner with Seeding Mercy (an organization building wells in South Sudan) and Feed My Starving Children (a group that prepares premixed food packages for starving kids worldwide). Every summer they collect water for cooling shelters around the community.
Look, this is not just marketing talk. They actually organize volunteer events and host gatherings around these causes. You can see upcoming events posted in the shop and on their website.
Now here is something nice. Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church holds worship services here every Sunday at 9AM. They also host a Ladies Bible Study and Book Review every Thursday morning. This might appeal to you or it might not. Just know that Mission Coffee leans into faith-based community in a way most coffee shops do not. All are welcome regardless of background but the church connection is part of their identity.
The coffee itself is solid. The beans are roasted by Clay and sometimes is sourced from Infusion Coffee which I also reviewed on this site. The focus is on quality drinks in a friendly atmosphere. I did not try a full range of their menu but the pour-over I had was fantastic.
They offer conference room rentals with AV hookups if you need space for meetings. They also host coffee education events (like "The Art of Coffee" workshops that cover origins, flavor, and brewing techniques).
Mission Coffee and Tea is not pretending to be something it is not. The cause-driven model is real. The direct trade relationships are genuine. The community gatherings actually happen. If you want solid coffee in a tranquil Chandler space and you appreciate knowing your money supports wells in South Sudan or food packages for starving kids, this place delivers. If the faith-based community angle does not appeal to you, that is fine too. The coffee stands on its own.

This Chandler, AZ coffeehouse with live music stage, poetry nights and pool tables donates portion of every purchase to charity (3,500 sq ft of community space). SoZo Coffee serves pour overs and signature lattes like the famous Cinnamon Toast Crunch while channeling revenue into local and global relief efforts. The strip mall exterior hides a surprisingly impressive interior built for hanging out. This is coffee with a cause and a stage and a mission to turn your daily latte into small acts of philanthropy.
Scott and Lori Morgan built SoZo as a missional business after dreaming for years about creating a community hang out centered on coffee and live local music. The tagline "Coffee with a Cause" is not marketing speak. It operates as the foundation of everything here. A portion of each transaction goes to charitable causes. Your morning cappuccino funds real work. The Morgans partnered with local charities and global relief organizations over the years (specific partners change but the commitment stays constant). Showing up and ordering a drink becomes participation in something larger than caffeine.
The space sprawls across 3,500 square feet with seating for every mood. Communal tables invite laptop work and conversation. Large leather chairs and couches create living room comfort. Bar seating puts you close to the action. This is more of a hang out space first and a work cafe second (though plenty of people camp here during the day). The layout reinforces socializing over isolation.
Then there is the stage. Professional grade. Multi-channel sound system. Lighting built for performance. SoZo runs as a music and arts venue as much as a coffee shop. Live bands play here. Solo artists test new material. Poetry nights draw young performers sharing personal work to supportive crowds. Open mics happen regularly. You get different experiences depending on when you visit.
The coffee program delivers quality. Standard espresso drinks hit the mark. Signature lattes push creativity. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch Latte is a standout worth returning for specifically. Whole bean coffee is available for home brewing. The bar focuses on craft and consistency rather than competing with third wave roasteries on single origin exotica.
Service here skews genuinely friendly. The baristas engage. The owners (Scott and Lori) show up and actually talk to customers. Staff members ask questions and remember faces. This is not transactional service. The warmth feels real rather than trained.
The church connected foundation creates a wholesome welcoming atmosphere without alienating anyone who just wants good coffee and a place to belong. The mission stays visible but not pushy. You can appreciate the charity work or ignore it completely. Either way the coffee tastes good and the space works for hanging out. The approach positions SoZo as open to everyone regardless of background or beliefs.
Worth noting: the menu includes Turkish coffee (which I have not tried yet) and a selection of fancy loose leaf teas for those who want something beyond the standard coffee offerings.

Coffee Rush Chandler offers lakeside views and oversized drinks open until 11PM. This flagship location combines waterfront patio seating with indulgent Frosts and flavored lattes in a relaxed atmosphere perfect for studying or unwinding.
The moment you step inside, those big windows pull your eyes straight to the water. The patio spreads wide along the lake and suddenly you forget you are in a strip mall. Inside feels open and easy. People camp out with laptops. Others chat over massive drinks. Some just stare at the water and decompress.
The Coffee Rush menu goes all in on comfort and size. Giant Frosts arrive in flavors like mint mocha, black and white, and various caramel situations. You can also grab dirty chai, flavored lattes, and strong iced coffees when Phoenix heat demands it. This is not the place for purist espresso culture. This is "I want 32 ounces of sweet caffeinated happiness and a chair facing the lake." Service moves quickly and the staff knows most faces by now.
If you want the full Coffee Rush experience, start here. The view alone makes it worth the trip. Then you stay because the drinks hit right and the vibe works. Watch the patio fill up with people who clearly had the same plan. The fact that they stay open until 11PM every night makes this even better. Where else can you get a caffeine jolt that late around here?
