The Thread is a Miami style coffee shop in Downtown Phoenix. Miami style coffee is a Cuban tradition. Espresso is pulled strong and sweet, with sugar whipped into the first drops to make a frothy foam called espumita. It is bold, rich, and not bitter. The shop sits in the historic 130 N Central Ave building. The cafe is on the ground floor and the thrift shop is upstairs.
Tiffany Largie founded the shop. She is a Jamaican American serial entrepreneur and the founder of DO THE DAMN THING. She wanted to bring the warmth of a Caribbean cafe to Phoenix. She also wanted to keep the price of a classic cafecito low. As of this writing, a classic cafecito runs about $2.10. The shop opened in late December 2025.
The rapper bbno$ (pronounced "baby no money") stopped in before a show in February 2026. He posted a video giving their iced Americano a 9 out of 10. He called it just perfect.
