Jasmine Jo Coffee & Flowers

Jasmine Jo Coffee & Flowers is exactly what it sounds like. Fresh coffee. Fresh blooms. You get both the moment you walk in, when the smell of espresso and roses hit you at the same time. It is a good combination.

The shop sits inside the Tempe Business Center, which is walkable and shaded in a way that not many Tempe spots are. Parking out front can get tricky during busy hours. The better move is to go around to the west side of the building which drops you right into the back patio. It feels like a secret garden. Big trees, plenty of tables and shade everywhere. It is one of the nicest patios in Tempe, and most people walking in from the front have no idea it is back there.

The space is tight inside but it is full of charm. The vibe is cozy and a little European. The kind of place where time moves slower than it should on a Tuesday.

Espresso here is pulled from single origin beans roasted by Matador Coffee Roasting Co. out of Flagstaff, and it gives the drinks a bright and clean character. The machine doing the work is a Nuova Simonelli Appia II, which is a beautiful Italian-made setup worth appreciating if you are into that sort of thing. The Dirty Daisy is a floral twist on coffee that is smooth and easy to like. On my last visit I ordered a latte with whole milk and got something thinner, which was a small letdown. Still good, but worth mentioning.

If you love coffee and flowers, you will like this spot. It feels like a little escape in the middle of Tempe.
