Blackhawk Coffee

Blackhawk Coffee proves that a world class coffee experience can come from anywhere. Even a stationary coffee truck in Sedona. I do not usually feature coffee trucks or carts on this site but Blackhawk earned an exception.

This is a family run operation. Chris and his son work the truck and his daughter bakes the muffins. That is it. No corporate ladder. No franchise playbook. Just a family making really good coffee out of a truck with red rock views in the background.

The La Marzocco FB80 is not a machine you casually throw into a truck. It is a commercial workhorse that you would expect to find anchoring a busy brick and mortar cafe. Seeing one inside a coffee truck in Sedona tells you everything you need to know about how seriously these people take their coffee.

I tried the espresso and it was dialed in. Clean and balanced. The Mama Bear Latte is one of their popular drinks and I can see why. The muffins are home baked and worth grabbing alongside your order.

Many people remember Blackhawk from their original spot near the Sedona welcome sign. They have since moved into town to their current location. The new spot still has the views. And Chris and his son still have the same energy they had on day one. Friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely happy to be making coffee for people.

Some of the best coffee experiences I have had in Arizona did not come from the fanciest shops. They came from people who care way too much about a single cup. Blackhawk is that.
