Enroute Coffee & Tea in Goodyear, AZ serves up a menu of specialty lattes, signature drinks, teas, smoothies and a full food menu that makes it one of the most complete neighborhood cafes in the West Valley.
Good coffee options in Goodyear are not exactly abundant. That makes Enroute matter more than it might in a saturated market. Co-owners Brittany Salazar and Deni Banach built something the area genuinely needed and the local following they have earned makes a lot of sense once you walk in.
The space is spacious and thoughtfully put together. Comfy padded chairs, strong wifi, plenty of power outlets and a level of cleanliness that makes a real first impression. This is a place designed for people who want to stay a while. And they do.
Shots are pulled on a Nuova Simonelli machine and the beans come from Mythical Coffee (which I have also reviewed on this site). That sourcing detail is not a small thing. Mythical is one of my favorite top roasters in all of Arizona and seeing their beans show up in Goodyear is exactly the kind of thing I am happy to report.
I ordered the seasonal lavender latte cold and it was a genuinely great drink. Smooth, not too sweet and refreshing in a way that made me wish it had a permanent place on the menu year round.
The menu here is one of the broadest I have seen at an independent shop. Beyond the espresso and specialty latte programs, you have loose leaf teas, matcha, chai, lotus energy drinks, protein smoothies, Italian sodas and a full food menu running from breakfast burritos and flatbreads to paninis and wraps. There is even a kids menu. This is the kind of place you bring a group with wildly different taste preferences and everyone finds something.
Enroute is not trying to be a minimalist third wave coffee bar. It is trying to be the best neighborhood cafe in Goodyear. On the evidence so far, it is doing exactly that.
